Coffee for Mum

This was my third quilt. I made it for my mum (obviously). It is a one block quilt, from a pattern in one of the quilt blocks magazines. I chose browns, pinks and purples, based on the colourful print that reminds me of a disco. The focal disco-esque print ended up being much more directional than I anticipated, and necessitated some recutting on my part. The brown grid also required attention, as it, too, is somewhat directional. This was the first quilt I quilted, although it was the third one that I pieced. I completed it in March 2012 (the 29th, to be precise. I know because that is the day I sent it to Mum, whose birthday is the 30th. Needless to say, it arrived on April 3rd.)

Disaster! My directional fabrics are going every which way! Panic, then recutting ensued.

All fixed! Patterns are running in the correct direction!

I like the star effect!
