Libellules

Libellules (Dragonflies) is the first quilt I ever made. Yay, me! It was also the first (and last) time I chose to work with batiks. I was drawn to the dragonfly print, the bolt of which I then schlepped around The Quilt Store trying to find coordinating fabrics. Now, I find myself the opposite of drawn to batiks, which I suppose is repulsion. In any case, I completed the class (and the quilt!) between January and July, 2012. The backing is flannel, which I do not like. I also wish that the blue against the dragonflies had worked out; there is something so visually striking about the combination. With the brown geometric, however, the pink looked horrible. So, everyone’s favourite combination, except mine, won the day.
